Living The Dream, Selling The Dream

I’m a real estate agent here in Northwest Florida. My markets are Panama City Beach, a luxury market called 30A, and Destin. I tell people all the time, I am living the dream selling the dream. This is where I’m from, I’m a Florida girl, and I’m very passionate about it. But I’m also very passionate about keeping it real with people, so they’re not just looking at pretty pictures.

I knew the power of social media. I could communicate who I am, my personality, how I speak, the information I provide, before people ever meet me face to face. The goal was never to become famous. It was to become familiar. Social media did not build my business, prospecting did, but it builds that credibility and that trust. It’s a credibility engine.

Four AM, Monday Through Friday

I knew how important social media was to being a successful real estate agent, so it was a priority for me. What I would do was wake up at 4 AM, Monday through Friday. I’d be in Canva drafting post templates, on CapCut editing videos, drafting social media descriptions, so I could get everything out and perfect before 8 AM when my actual real estate workday started.

That’s going on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, all of these platforms, every single day. I tried a couple of editors on Fiverr, but nobody could keep up with me and the consistency I hold myself to. I’m a perfectionist, kind of a control freak, because my brand is who I am. I did that for four or five years.

A Weight Off My Shoulders

I had all the hesitations. There was a huge trust thing with me, like handing someone else your child. But then Brand Builder came into my life and it was game changing. Now I meet with my rep every week, we strategize which posts go out, and I tell them exactly what I want, me on camera talking about my listing, then B roll of the golf cart ride to the beach. They’re experts, and they make the vision in my mind come to life.

It saves me a minimum of 10 hours a week, easy, and it’s better than what I could have done myself. It’s a huge weight off my shoulders, and it still is. I don’t care if I’m on vacation with my family, those posts are going out. It’s off my plate, one thing I can check off, so I can go flourish in other areas. And that consistency has opened doors, I’ve been featured on local news several times.

Just Taking Orders Now

I can’t even tell you the last time I’ve had a listing appointment. People are literally just calling and saying, Rachel, we want to list, send me the paperwork. There is no listing appointment. I’m just taking orders and making it happen for my clients. When they make the decision, they know exactly what they’re getting, someone who’s going to be consistent, and there’s no question about what I’ll do that other agents won’t.

My advice is this: social media is not optional, not if you really want to level up and scale. Your competition is on social media. It’s your living resume and your credibility engine, so do not sleep on it. But also, don’t be like me and lose a ton of sleep in the process. When you’re dealing with successful people, efficiency is key. We want the job done, done right, and I really don’t want to babysit anyone to get it done.
